You will be an expert within<br>our engineering organization, deeply understanding product behaviour, customer journeys, business&nbsp;rules, and the systems that support seamless conference and event experiences. This role will&nbsp;balance hands-on individual contributor responsibilities with leading, influencing, and coaching<br>your peers.</p> <p>This individual contributor role is for someone who is passionate about seeing systems holistically,&nbsp;has a strong vision for product quality, and is eager to drive the highest standards of customer&nbsp;experience, functional correctness, usability, accessibility, reliability, performance, and release&nbsp;confidence. You will leverage your deep understanding of SaaS product behaviour, end-to-end&nbsp;workflows, integrations, environments, and customer operations to guide and influence our&nbsp;development process.&nbsp;Your role is not to manage a team, but to be a quality champion who partners directly with<br>developers, product managers, designers, support, implementation, and customer-facing teams.&nbsp;You will help teams anticipate risk, clarify expected behaviour, validate business logic, protect the&nbsp;customer experience, and build more robust, scalable, and reliable conference and event products the core of this role is a strong focus on the customer experience; success means our platform&nbsp;behaves predictably, is easy to use, and enables customers to plan, configure, manage, and deliver&nbsp;events with confidence.</p> <p><br><strong>What You Will Own:<br></strong><br>• Own and drive end-to-end quality for the PBSA product team.<br>• Champion StarRez’s quality standards by establishing, maintaining, and advocating for quality&nbsp;gates and rapid feedback loops throughout the software delivery lifecycle.<br>• Design and execute validation strategies for feature related initiatives.<br>• Partner with Product, Design and Engineering from ideation through delivery to ensure&nbsp;acceptance criteria, personas, customer journeys, test data, edge cases, non-functional&nbsp;expectations, and quality gates reflect real customer operations and the intended product&nbsp;experience.<br>• Champion shift-left quality culture by mentoring developers, product managers, and design&nbsp;partners on testing principles, behavioural specifications, clear acceptance criteria, early&nbsp;validation, fast feedback loops, and production-quality observability.<br>• Work effectively with ambiguity, proactively designing quality solutions based on evidence&nbsp;when clear requirements, behaviour definitions, customer workflow expectations, or quality&nbsp;baselines do not yet exist.<br>• Champion test automation best practices, create clear testing standards, and coach&nbsp;engineers to take shared ownership of building and maintaining automated tests.<br>• Apply AI tools and techniques to improve product quality and enhance the effectiveness and&nbsp;efficiency of quality engineering practices and processes.<br>• Own production defect triage for your product domain, partnering with Engineering,&nbsp;Product, and Support to assess impact, prioritise fixes, identify root causes, and drive&nbsp;preventative quality improvements.</p> <p><br><strong>Required Qualifications:</strong></p> <p><br>• 5+ years of progressive software engineering or quality engineering with deep focus on&nbsp;quality in complex, distributed system environments<br>• Hands-on experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate customer needs&nbsp;into well-defined user stories, acceptance criteria, and risk-based test scenarios that support&nbsp;high-quality product delivery.<br>• Proven track record advocating for quality and ability to influence technical direction through&nbsp;innovative, pragmatic, and evidence-based approaches.<br>• Hands-on experience working with web-based products, including front-end behaviour, API,&nbsp;service integration and functional end-to-end testing.<br>• Experience building test automation frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress from the&nbsp;ground up<br>• Practical experience integrating automated tests and quality checks into CI/CD pipelines&nbsp;using tools such as GitHub, Buildkite, or similar platforms.<br>• Experience contributing to deployment and release quality gates, including test suite&nbsp;selection, environment readiness checks.<br>• Problem-solving skills with talent for root cause analysis of complex system.<br>• Excellent technical communication and collaboration skills to effectively guide and&nbsp;influence engineering peers, product managers, and business stakeholders through deep&nbsp;technical expertise and strategic quality insights.<br>• Genuine curiosity and passion for understanding product architecture, user experience&nbsp;flows, customer workflows, analytics use cases, and the business impact of engineering and&nbsp;data decisions.<br>• Experience utilising AI in modern software development.</p><div class="content-conclusion"><p>StarRez is an equal opportunity employer.</p></div>
